Three cars have been ticketed. There is a guy who sits there all day and sticks yellow tickets on parked cars.
I went to a shop to pick up delivery packages for my wife. I did it myself without the assistance of a clerk. This surely wouldn’t happen in North America where thievery of Amazon deliveries is a problem. And I recall how I need to show ID just to enter a Liquor store in Canada.
A no smoking sign on the elevator. Far too often, you get on this elevator and it smells of cigarette smoke.
A stop sign. A rare sight. 停 is the character. “Ting” is the pinyin. Local drivers mostly ignore the sign. I have seen drivers make the right turn at high speeds: barreling in without even checking for traffic. Driving, I have stopped at the sign and have been passed by trailing drivers. A few times, I’ve even had impatient drivers honk their horns at me.
Interesting uses of English. I wonder if the persons responsible for putting up the lettering have any idea what the words mean.
This is happening at 7:00 AM on a Sunday morning.
Above is the sort of thing that makes me say sarcastically: “Great parking buddy! The first photo shows a van and truck parked in the exit tunnel and ramp of a parking garage. The next photo shows a truck and SUV parked and stopped at the top of the ramp. The white SUV’s parking is particularly annoying because it is parked against traffic which is all exiting the ramp. I had to squeeze my vehicle on the left to pass them.
A works truck collecting branches off trees at a park. Lots of these can be seen around the city. A lot of old people are employed on these operations.
Sunday Morning Tai Chi.
A boat on a canal.
Public Toilet. Lots of these buildings around the city.
An e-biker ignoring a traffic light.
These two cyclists made a left turn on a green light rather presumptively.
