We just drove from Wuxi to Jiangyin. I have another week of minimal duties at school. Tony has an exam tomorrow morning.
I want to carp about drivers, the frigging local drivers.
This morning, I drove my wife to work. I drove through the underground parking basement. I approached this intersection where the view of it was blocked by a tall white van parked on my right. So it was a blind corner. I took it slow as I passed the van and approached the corner. And it was a good thing I did because a truck, with a cab and a box, barreled into the intersection from the area where the view thereof had been blocked by the van. If I had not slowed down, there would have been a collision. Another moronic local driver! F-ing driver.
Later, I went to pick up my wife in that basement. At least three cars were going the wrong way. It reminded me of a stupid, of course female, driver who we were fortunate not to have collided with when she went up a ramp the wrong way that we were about to descend, at the IKEA mall in Wuxi. Approaching the ramp, drivers, going the proper way, have to make a U-turn before they see the ramp they have to descend. They can’t see the ramp till after making the U-turn because there are bushes on the barrier between the road leading to the ramp and the actual ramp. We were fortunate because the stupid woman drove around the bend and we could see her and avoid a collision. If we had both got to the bend at the same time….
Hopefully, I can get out of China alive!
